Brenntag Química, appointed distributor for Cristal Global’s Titanium Dioxide in Spain

Brenntag Química, S.A. has been appointed distributor for TiO2 in Spain from Cristal Global, the world’s second-largest producer of TiO2 and the resulting company of the merger between Cristal and Millennium Inorganic Chemicals.

 

About Titanium Dioxide:

Titanium Dioxide is an important white pigment due to its optical properties. It is the brightest white pigment, with the highest opacity in any commercial product, and is used to enhance whiteness and opacity to paints, plastics, paper and in many other smaller applications. TiO2 can also improve the durability of coatings and films. Because of its clean tone and opacifying properties, TiO2 is widely used in pastel and colored finishes as well as whites.

 

The annual global production of TiO2 is approximately 4 million tons. This product is used in paints and coatings (58%), plastics (20%), paper (13%) and other markets (9%).
